New filtering rules for Standard and Enhanced DBS checks
Following a Supreme Court ruling recently, some elements of filtering were deemed to be disproportionate and therefore, from the 28th November 2020, the filtering rules for Standard and Enhanced DBS checks will change.
From this date, the DBS will no longer disclose youth reprimands, youth cautions or youth warnings. Also, where an individual has more than one conviction, the DBS will no longer necessarily disclose all convictions and will instead assess each conviction against the other rules.
Certificates produced before the 28th November 2020 will be produced in line with the current filtering rules, certificates produced after the 28th November 2020 in line with the new filtering rules.
