DBS ‘unusual addresses’ guidance

The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) have recently updated their guidance regarding ‘unusual addresses’ in a disclosure applicant’s 5-year address history – for example employees or residents of cruise ships, canal boats or merchant vessels, no fixed abode, frequent or long-term travellers, HM armed forces.
Anyone that is responsible for verifying the identity of a DBS disclosure applicant should view the updated guidance at DBS unusual addresses guidance – GOV.UK
Whilst the DBS guidance refers to ‘sections’ from their traditional paper-based application form, the guidance would also apply to online DBS disclosure applications, such as those applied for with CBR’s KYP system.
