ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

Home-Start Norfolk is an independent local charity, our vision is to ensure that every parent has the support they need to give their children the best start in life. We believe that we can transform our communities through investing in early childhood.

Our mission is to empower parents to develop the knowledge, skills and resilience to enable their children to thrive. Home-Start’s ethos is to empower and enable, allowing families to develop self-resilience and confidence in their ability to cope with challenging situations and integrate more within their own communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Family Services Coordinator (FSC) who shares our passion for supporting Norfolk families and making a difference to children’s crucial early years. You will be able to demonstrate confidence and experience in supporting and managing volunteers to work with families. You will be the representative of our charity, providing a voice for the families and volunteers that you work with.

An FSC at Home-Start Norfolk is a post which requires enthusiasm and energy to empower families whatever challenges they may be facing. You will be reactive and responsive to working in partnership with parents and carers to develop a tailored package of support which may include a home visiting volunteer, group work, referral and/or signposting to other organisations. Our FSCs and volunteers work with a wide variety of professionals and partner organisations to ensure that children and their families get a variety of support options at the right time to prevent them requiring more costly and timely interventions. It is a relationship based on trust and empowerment.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, with the child and adult barred lists.
