Do you believe Disabled people should have the right support, information and opportunities to live independently and make informed choices?
At Equal Lives, we’re looking for a passionate and motivated Disability Rights Adviser to join our Advice Team.
In this role, you will provide information, advice and guidance to Disabled people and others facing disabling barriers, helping them understand their rights, navigate challenges and access the support they need. You’ll work directly with clients by phone, email and in group settings, facilitating advice sessions and helping to ensure people’s voices are heard and acted upon.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about equality, inclusion and disability rights.
- Has experience providing advice, guidance or support to people in complex situations.
- Can communicate with empathy, professionalism and confidence.
- Is organised, self-motivated and comfortable managing competing priorities.
- Shares our commitment to the Social Model of Disability and empowering Disabled people.
Experience in advice work, community support, advocacy, customer service or the charity sector would be beneficial, but above all we’re looking for someone who genuinely wants to make a difference.
Why work for Equal Lives?
Equal Lives is a user-led disability rights organisation working across Norfolk and Suffolk. We are passionate about removing barriers, promoting independent living and ensuring disabled people’s voices shape the services and communities around them.
