Are you a values-driven leader ready to make a positive difference to the lives of thousands of people across Norfolk?
Following the appointment of our current CEO David Powles to lead St Martin’s Housing Trust, Norfolk Community Law Service is looking for an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead the next chapter of our fantastic charity. For over 40 years, we have been at the forefront of providing free, specialist legal advice and representation to people in the county facing disadvantages.
Demand for our services has never been greater; last year our team of 38 employees and 180 volunteers helped more than 4,500 people, a record number. The ongoing impact of cuts to legal aid, combined with the cost-of-living crisis, means access to justice is increasingly out of reach for many. While our turnover now stands at £1.4m a year, the scale of the challenges we face in meeting growing demand for our services has never been greater. As CEO, you will provide clear strategic leadership, working with our funding and other partners and ensuring NCLS continues to adapt, grow and deliver life-changing support to those who need it most.
You will lead a committed team of staff and volunteers delivering high-quality advice across areas including debt, domestic abuse, employment, family, immigration and welfare benefits. Working closely with the Board, you will strengthen our financial sustainability through effective fundraising and partnerships, while continuing to raise our profile across the region.
We are looking for someone who:
- Brings strong strategic and operational leadership experience
- Has a track record in fundraising, commissioning or income generation
- Understands the power of collaboration across sectors
- Is passionate about equality, justice and client voice
- Is willing to take a prominent lead in ensuring we and those we represent are heard loudly and clearly
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a respected organisation at a critical time.
If you are motivated by purpose and ready to lead with impact, we would love to hear from you. We are proud to be a supportive and positive employer, committed to staff wellbeing, development and creating an inclusive workplace where people can thrive.
