What we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring leader to serve as Chair of Trustees at Thornage Hall Independent Living. Building on the charity’s established success, the Chair will guide the organisation in delivering outstanding supported housing and day services for people with learning disabilities. Developments in commissioning offer an exciting opportunity to expand our day services, enabling the people we support to pursue their ambitions while preserving the diverse range of opportunities currently available. The successful candidate will bring substantial organisational leadership experience, a strong understanding of effective governance, sound judgement, and a proven ability to use resources responsibly and strategically.
Key relationships: The Chair works closely with the Board of Trustees, CEO, Vice-Chair, Director of Finance, and the chairs of the Finance, Performance and Remuneration, Care Quality, Land and Farm, and Estates sub-committees.
Time commitment: On average two days per month, with support from the Vice-Chair and sub-committee chairs.
Ideal background: Executive leadership, strategy and governance, ideally within the public or charity sector.
