Opening Doors is a user-led self advocacy charity run by and for people with learning disabilities. Our aim is for all adults with learning disabilities in Norfolk to be confident individuals, controlling their own lives and making their own decisions with support from people they trust. About the role
The purpose of this role is to enable people with learning disabilities to be themselves and to lead confident, safe and successful lives.
You will work with people on an individual basis, but you will also work with self-advocacy groups in the community, within secure settings and online to enable people to have their voices heard. You will also enable people with Learning Disabilities to take the lead in solving their own problems and getting advice and support. You will need to have a good knowledge of advice and support services available in Norfolk. You will also need to be able to self-manage and to keep accurate and correct records of your work for monitoring purposes. You will support a self advocate trustee to attend contract partnership meetings.
