DBS refunds for residents of Crown Dependencies

DBS refunds

Last month, the DBS announced that some residents of Crown Dependencies may have been charged for DBS products that the DBS were not permitted to charge for. Therefore some residents (or former residents) of Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man may be entitled to a refund for these products. (Please note that the relevant legislation has changed and that the DBS can charge Crown Dependency residents for these products now.)

If you had a Basic DBS disclosure prior to the 1st August 2024 and lived in Guernsey or the Isle of Man at the time of application, or if you paid for the Update Service (including annual renewals) prior to the 1st August 2024 and were living in Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man at the time of application, then you may be eligible for a refund or partial refund of fees.
