An exciting opportunity has arisen at DIAL Great Yarmouth for a Specialist Support Worker to join the Norfolk Community College project. The Norfolk Community College Project is part of the Building Better Opportunities programme and is funded by the European Social Fund and National Lottery Community Fund to help unemployed adults in Norfolk back into training and employment. This programme aims to make positive contribution to New Anglia LEP’s objective to promote social inclusion and combat poverty.
To support delivery of the project we are now recruiting for the following position, which will work across West Norfolk.
The Specialist Support worker will work with local communities so that adults who are furthest away from the labour market can overcome barriers preventing their involvement in further education, training and employment. A key part of the role is to provide support, advice, guidance and advocacy to individuals and families across a range of agendas including, money, debt and budgeting, benefits and housing issues whilst supporting them to achieve their ambitions and take progressive steps towards employment. As this exciting project requires working from key community venues across West Norfolk and meeting people where they are, a full driving licence will be essential.
Leave entitlement: 24 days per annum (pro rata) plus public holidays.
