The Project:  Norwich Mind have been commissioned to work in partnership with the Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust Mental Health Liaison Team based at the NNUH to provide brief intervention to people discharged from hospital but who may not require secondary mental health services after suffering an episode of crisis or poor mental health. The project is aimed at improving support for people experiencing mental health difficulties perhaps for the first time or who may not have previously been seen by the Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust for mental health services.

The Job – The successful candidate will provide follow up support post discharged from the Hospital, the support will be a mixture of face to face and telephone contact. The successful candidate must therefore have exceptional communication skills and be able to offer empathy and understanding. Good organisational skills are also essential to manage their own case load and meet the specific contact requirements. The position will suit anyone who has a passion for providing high quality care and helping others experiencing difficulties in their life. This position is on a fixed term contract.

The successful candidates must also have a driving licence and their own car. The role itself is predominately fulfilled 3 days between Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm and does not require shifts or weekend working. Traveling time between visits is included within working hours and we currently pay a rate of 0.45p per mile for travelling expenses. Expenses for sundries when visiting clients is also fully paid.

We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who can draw from their own experience of recovery to improve the recovery of others.
