St Mary’s Contact Centre in Norwich is looking to appoint a new Contact Centre Co-ordinator to facilitate safe contact between children and their non-resident parent.
- Do you believe that children should be able to spend time with both parents?
- Do you want to work with families to make this possible?
- Can you communicate well with people and help them through difficult situations?
- Can you organise, encourage and inspire a team of volunteers?
According to the Census in 2011 there were more than twenty thousand homes in Norfolk consisting of a lone parent with dependent children. Relationships after separation or divorce can be difficult but the majority of children want and need to maintain a relationship with parents and relatives who are important to them.
St Mary’s Contact Centre aims to be a welcoming, comfortable, safe and non-judgemental place where children can see their non-resident parent or wider family. Around 15 families use the service each session, some spending the whole time in the building, others going off-site for some or all of the session. The Centre is staffed by volunteers, and the Co-ordinator will ensure that the Centre runs safely and effectively.
The sessions are run from 10am-1pm fortnightly on a Saturday morning.
The co-ordinators role is for 16 hours per fortnight, £9 per hour. The role is for one year initially for 1st October 2019 – 30th September 2020.
