Headway Norfolk and Waveney supports people’s independence, rehabilitation, re-ablement and wellbeing through providing services directly to people with acquired brain injury (ABI), their families, carers and the wider community.
The ABI Connections project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, and is focused on engaging with people in the early stages following brain injury.
The Community Occupational Therapist will be working with people affected by brain injury, in-reaching into clinical settings- developing a link between clinical setting and community support.
Working with the Headway Team, this role will support people adjusting to the impact of brain injury, family and carers included. Providing emotional and practical support to people affected by brain injury, including brain injury education, liaising with others, and connecting people into community support post discharge. (Please note this role is not to duplicate/replace hospital OT activity, but to enhance and provide additional support). The role will be based in Norwich but will require travel across the county.
The Community Occupational Therapist will also manage the Lived Experience Co-ordinator/Communicator who will be supporting the development of peer support opportunities.
