ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Equal Lives is a membership organisation led by people who face disabling barriers, and we advocate the social model of disability. Our advice and information services provide disabled people with the help they need to secure their rights and to access services. We also provide advocacy services to enable disabled people to have their voices heard. We support people to empower themselves to live independent lives and we are very involved in campaigning on issues that affect disabled people. We try to influence policy decisions at local and national level to improve the lives of disabled people.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Although this is a maternity cover role, it comes at a crucial time in the development of our advocacy service. Therefore, this will an opportunity to lead on a programme of service change within the Advocacy team. You will develop and implement a refreshed model of Advocacy work that enables us to evidence how we have empowered clients and enabled them to become more resilient. You will also develop peer advocacy projects as well as secure new sources of funding and establishing new partnerships to deliver a wider breadth of advocacy services to people who face disabling barriers.
