MAP is a charity providing free and independent advice, counselling, youth work and education for young people.
Join MAP in supporting young people across Norfolk
At MAP, we are advisers, counsellors, youth workers and other professionals working together to provide the best support we can to young people aged 11-25, in a way that works for them.
At MAP we work for social justice. We are an inclusive workplace, welcoming everybody to bring their authentic whole selves to work every day. Upholding equality at MAP is not only about eliminating discrimination; it is about actively recognising and valuing difference; making the most of everyone’s potential.
The Generalist Advice Service at MAP offers advice on a range of issues that affect young people, such as Housing, Benefits, Debt, Sexual Health and Employment. We operate primarily via drop ins in Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Kings Lynn. As an Adviser you would deliver generalist advice as part of a skilled, dynamic and caring team.
We are currently looking for a self-motivated, hands on and autonomous Adviser to provide advice to young people. This role will be based in Norwich but with the potential for regular travel to our site in Yarmouth and occasional travel to our site in Kings Lynn. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience working with vulnerable or hard to reach young people in our age range of 11-25. They will have experience of delivering social welfare advice or will demonstrate a keen understanding and ability to learn this area of work.
Advisers at MAP are provided with appropriate relevant training in Social Welfare Advice and continued training and development as they advance their advice practice skills.
If you have any questions about the role please contact Yolly Southgate, Head of Advice Services at yollysouthgate@map.uk.net.
